I've always been drawn to products that make complex systems easier for people to understand and interact with. That curiosity first led me to architecture, where I learned to think about structure, space, and how people move through environments. It later evolved into interaction design, and today it shapes how I design for operational systems and technical workflows that people rely on to get real work done.
I’m Monica Hwang, a Product Designer based in Los Angeles. I design enterprise products for operational systems and the people who depend on them every day. At NHN Global, I redesigned a legacy B2B workflow used daily by vendor operators, balancing decade-old constraints with evolving business needs while introducing AI-assisted experiences that reshaped the product’s information architecture.
What draws me in isn't visual polish. It's the structure underneath complexity: how people read system state, recover from errors, and decide when to trust automation.
Looking ahead, I'm interested in designing human-centered interfaces for intelligent, physical, and operational systems, from enterprise software to robotics, mobility, and beyond. Architecture, interaction design, and enterprise software aren't separate chapters to me. They're the same question asked in different contexts: how can thoughtful interaction help people understand and operate increasingly complex systems?
That's where I hope to spend my career, designing the point where digital interfaces, people, and the physical world come together.
